Cookie Policy

Last updated: 18 June 2025

This page explains what cookies are, which ones we use on the Sandaran Law website, and how you can control them. We have tried to write this in plain language — no technical jargon where it can be avoided.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They help the site remember information about your visit — for example, whether you have already accepted the cookie notice, or how you navigated around the site.

They do not give us access to your device or any personal information beyond what you choose to share with us directly. Most cookies are harmless and make websites easier to use.

Cookies we use

Essential cookies

Always active

These cookies are necessary for the website to function. They handle things like remembering your cookie consent decision. Without them, parts of the site will not work correctly. These cannot be switched off.

Examples: cookieConsent (localStorage), session security tokens.

Analytics cookies

Optional

These help us understand how visitors use the website — which pages are visited most, how long people stay, and where they come from. The information is aggregated and does not identify individuals.

Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid). Duration: up to 2 years.

Marketing cookies

Optional

These cookies are used if we run any advertising. They help measure how effective any adverts are and may be used to show relevant content to people who have visited this site.

Examples: Meta Pixel, Google Ads. Duration: up to 90 days.

Preference cookies

Optional

These remember your settings and preferences — for example, your region or language — so you don't have to set them each time you visit.

Examples: Language preference, display settings. Duration: up to 1 year.

How long do cookies last?

Session cookies are temporary and are deleted automatically when you close your browser. They are used to keep the site working smoothly during a single visit.

Persistent cookies stay on your device after the browser is closed, for a set period. These are used for analytics and preferences. Their durations are noted in the cookie descriptions above.
