Six reasons clients come to Sandaran Law

These are the things we hear most often from people when they describe why they reached out — and why they stayed.

Focused on pensions only

We do not practise across ten areas of law. Pension matters are our focus, so our knowledge of this area is thorough and current.

Plain language, always

Every explanation, every letter, every written note is checked for clarity. You will not leave a meeting more confused than when you arrived.

Transparent, fixed fees

Costs are set out clearly before any work begins. No hourly rate surprises. You know what you're paying from the start.

A consistent point of contact

You deal with the same person throughout your matter — not a rotating team of unfamiliar faces. This means less repetition and more trust.

No pressure on your timeline

We adapt to your pace. Some matters need quick action; others benefit from a more considered approach. We follow your lead.

Local knowledge

Based in Melaka and familiar with local pension administration. When dealing with regional bodies and offices, familiarity matters.

Expertise

Years spent in this particular corner of the law

Our principal solicitor has spent more than fifteen years working on employment and pension matters in Malaysia. That experience is not just about knowing the relevant legislation — it is about understanding how the system actually operates, where disputes tend to arise, and how to present a client's position in a way that gets heard.

  • Deep familiarity with EPF, public pension, and PRS frameworks
  • Knowledge of relevant appeal and review processes
  • Ongoing continuing legal education in pension law

Legal expertise, not general practice

General law firms handle pension matters occasionally. We handle them regularly, which means our procedures are refined and our understanding of common obstacles is practical, not theoretical.

A human approach to legal support

We notice when clients seem uncertain or need more time. We don't treat that as inconvenient — we treat it as part of the job. A person who understands their situation is better placed to make decisions that suit them.

Client Care

How we handle the person, not just the matter

Pension concerns arrive with worry attached. Clients often feel uncertain about whether they have a valid concern, what it will cost to pursue it, or how long things will take. We address those concerns directly and early.

  • Initial discussion at your pace, no rushing
  • Written summaries after key steps
  • Prompt responses to calls and messages
Value

Fees that are easy to understand and agree to

We offer three defined services with fixed fees — RM 155 for a Standing Review, RM 370 for ongoing Retirement Income Guidance, and RM 615 for Dispute and Appeal Assistance. These amounts are agreed in writing before any work starts. There are no add-on charges and no uncertainty.

  • Fixed service fees, not hourly billing
  • Written fee confirmation before engagement
  • No obligation on initial enquiry

Know the cost before you begin

Many people avoid seeking legal help because they are unsure what it will cost. We remove that uncertainty by being direct about fees from the first conversation.

How We Compare

Our approach versus a typical general practice

Not all legal support is the same. Here's what tends to differ when pension matters are handled by a focused practice rather than a general firm.

What Sets Us Apart

Distinctive features of Sandaran Law

The Standing Review

Our RM 155 entry-level service is unusual in legal practice. It gives clients a clear written assessment of their pension position, with time to discuss it — without any obligation to proceed further. Many people find that this alone resolves their uncertainty.

In plain terms — every time

We maintain a standing practice of restating every legal point in everyday language before a client leaves or ends a call. This is not an afterthought — it is how we measure whether we have done our job well.

Ongoing guidance, not one-off advice

The Retirement Income Guidance service provides continuing support for clients whose situations evolve over time. This is rare in fee-based legal work — most practices prefer defined, completed engagements. We think continuity serves clients better.

Correspondence handled for you

In dispute matters, we manage all correspondence with pension bodies, government departments, and opposing parties. Clients report that this is one of the greatest reliefs — not having to compose or track formal letters during an already stressful time.
